Wildlife Removal Services

I’m Michael Ryder — your local pest & wildlife expert. No big-company rates. No red tape. Just honest, affordable, hands-on help. Proudly protecting Catskills & Hudson Valley homes, farms, and businesses — fast.

Why Wildlife Are a Serious Problem

Wild animals like raccoons, skunks, squirrels, opossums, and bats may look harmless, but once they move into attics, chimneys, walls, or crawlspaces they can cause real damage and create health risks. They tear insulation, shred wiring, contaminate living spaces with urine and droppings, and can introduce parasites and pathogens into homes and outbuildings. Their ability to squeeze into small gaps makes them hard to exclude without careful inspection and repairs.

At BWNC Pest Control I focus on humane, practical wildlife solutions that stop the problem today and keep animals out tomorrow. My service combines thorough inspections, targeted live-trapping, exclusion repairs, and sealing work so you don’t face a repeat visit from the same critter.

Why Wildlife Control Matters

Wild animals aren’t just a nuisance — they can be dangerous to your family, pets, and property. Common issues caused by wildlife include:

Health Hazards

Wildlife carry parasites, fleas, ticks, roundworms, and bacteria that can spread through droppings and direct contact. Bat guano and raccoon latrines pose particular health risks if left untreated.

Property Damage

Chewed wiring, torn insulation, damaged vents, and ripped rooflines are common when animals nest in attics and eaves. Repairs can be costly if exclusion work isn’t performed quickly.

Noise & Disturbance

Scratching, thumping, and night-time activity in walls and attics disrupt sleep and create stress for homeowners.

Secondary Pests

Wildlife can attract flies, beetles, mites, and other secondary pests, increasing the scope of the infestation.

When wildlife get established they breed and spread — early detection and humane, professional control are essential.

Our Process

Inspect

Inspect.png

I start with a hands-on inspection of your property to locate entry points, nesting sites, and signs of recent activity — droppings, tracks, chew marks, and damage.

I identify the species, assess the extent of occupancy, and determine whether animals are currently inside or just visiting. That informs the safest, most effective approach.

create a clear, step-by-step plan that prioritizes humane removal, exclusion repairs, and long-term prevention. I’ll explain each step so you know exactly what will happen and why.

Treat & Exclude

_Treat & Exclude.png

I use live traps and exclusion devices to remove animals without unnecessary harm. Then I perform exclusion repairs — replacing vents, patching eaves, sealing rooflines, and fitting chimney caps — to prevent re-entry.

Follow-Up & Prevent

Follow-Up-&-Prevent.png

I provide follow-up checks, re-inspections, and recommendations (and can perform repairs) to ensure animals don’t return. Prevention advice for landscaping, food sources, and structural weak points is part of every job

My Humane and Professional Approach

I’m a one-person, community-based operator — not a big corporation. I keep prices reasonable and the process simple: honest assessments, clear pricing, and hands-on work. My priority is humane, low-impact solutions. I favor exclusion, habitat modification, and live trapping over chemical controls. I only consider chemical options as a last resort — and then I use them sparingly and responsibly, with your approval.

Because I focus on practical repairs and prevention, many jobs get solved without poisons or heavy sprays. That approach protects children, pets, livestock, and the natural environment while still removing the immediate threat.

Residential Wildlife Control

For homeowners, wildlife problems usually show up in attics, chimneys, crawlspaces, and sheds. I help protect:

  • Families: By removing animals safely and cleaning or isolating contaminated areas to reduce health risks.

  • Homes: By repairing entry points, replacing damaged insulation when needed, and protecting wiring and vents.

  • Peace of Mind: By providing follow-up inspections and exclusion work so you don’t get surprise guests next season.

Whether you’re in a cabin in the Catskills, a farmhouse, or a suburban home in the Hudson Valley, I tailor my approach to your property and budget.

Commercial Wildlife  Control

I can assist businesses with immediate wildlife issues — shops, restaurants, farms, rental units, and small warehouses — and I handle one-time removals and exclusion work discreetly to minimize disruption. If you’re a business seeking large, ongoing monthly contracts with scheduled chemical treatments, that’s not my primary focus right now. I prefer to concentrate on targeted removals and repair work where I can control quality and keep costs fair.

Services I commonly provide for commercial clients: emergency removals, attic cleanouts, exclusion repairs, roof/soffit sealing, and site assessments to protect inventory and customers.

Seasonal Wildlife Control

Wildlife behavior changes with the seasons, and I adjust services accordingly:

  • Spring: Inspect nesting areas and remove newborn litters where required by law and best practice; seal off entry points after animals have left.

  • Summer: Monitor attics, porches, and sheds when animals seek cool, shaded nesting sites.

  • Fall: Perform exclusion work and roof/vent repairs as animals seek warm shelter for the winter.

  • Winter: Address active infestations in wall voids and attics and follow up on exclusion repairs done earlier in the year.

A seasonal, preventive approach avoids many costly emergencies.

Signs of a Wildlife Infestation

Wildlife are often stealthy. Watch for these common indicators:

Droppings

Fresh droppings in attics, crawlspaces, or near entry points suggest recent activity.

Noises

Scratching, thumping, or high-pitched squeaks in walls, ceilings, or chimneys — especially at night — are signs of nesting animals.

Chewed Items

Damaged insulation, torn ductwork, gnawed wiring, or ripped roofing underlayment indicate wildlife presence.

Unusual Pet Behavior

Dogs or cats that repeatedly sniff walls, paw at vents, or stare at ceilings may be sensing animals you can’t see.
